Privacy policy.
This site is built on a simple principle: I collect as little as I can, store what I must, and never sell what you share.
1 — Who is responsible
Thorsten Meyer (Munich, Germany). For contact details see the Impressum.
2 — What I collect, and why
When you visit this site, the hosting provider may automatically log:
- your IP address (truncated where possible),
- the date and time of access,
- the page or resource requested,
- your browser type and operating system,
- and the referring URL.
This data is processed under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for the legitimate interest of operating, securing, and improving the site. It is not joined with personal profiles.
3 — Newsletter
If you subscribe to The Dispatch, I store the email address you provide and a timestamp of your confirmation (double opt-in). I use this only to send the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email — no questions asked. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).
4 — Cookies
This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no third-party trackers. A small, technically necessary cookie may be used to remember your theme preference (light / dark / sepia). You can clear it any time from your browser settings.
5 — External services
Some embeds (e.g. YouTube videos on linked pages) are loaded directly from their provider. When you interact with them, the provider may receive technical data including your IP. I keep such embeds to a minimum and prefer "click-to-load" patterns.
6 — Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access your data (Art. 15),
- rectify inaccurate data (Art. 16),
- erase your data (Art. 17),
- restrict processing (Art. 18),
- data portability (Art. 20),
- object to processing (Art. 21),
- withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7(3)),
- and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77).
7 — Contact
For any privacy-related request, write to contact@thorstenmeyerai.com. I aim to respond within seven days.
